Courchevel 1850 · Getting here

Arriving in Courchevel.

By car, by train or by helicopter, met at the door of the plane.

The first hours of a stay set the tone for the week. A driver waiting as you come out, child seats already fitted, room for the skis, and the chalet warm when you arrive: that is what I organise, whichever way you travel.

By car

From Geneva airport, allow about two to two and a half hours, and more on busy Saturdays, when the valley road is full. Lyon is about two hours away, Chambéry a little over an hour. I time the driver to your flight, not to the timetable, and follow any delay.

By train

The nearest station is Moûtiers, about 25 km below the resort. From there a driver brings you up in around 35 to 45 minutes.

By helicopter

From Geneva, the flight takes around 30 to 35 minutes and lands at the Courchevel altiport, at 2,008 metres, a few minutes from most chalets in 1850. A car meets you on the tarmac. Flights depend on the weather, so a road transfer is always kept in reserve.

The altiport

Its runway is only 537 metres long, with a gradient of about 18.5%, and only specially certified pilots may land there. Private aircraft can land directly in the resort; larger jets land at Geneva or Chambéry, and the last stretch is by helicopter or car.

Questions

Which airport should we choose?

Geneva has the most flights. Chambéry is the closest but has fewer routes. Tell me where you are flying from and I will suggest the simplest option.

Can you arrange the return as well?

Yes. Departures are planned with the same care, including luggage and skis collected from the chalet.

Tell me how you are travelling.

I answer myself, usually within the hour, and organise your arrival with your stay.
