Ski-in, ski-out in Courchevel.
What it really means, and how to choose.
Ski-in, ski-out appears in almost every chalet description in Courchevel 1850, and it does not always mean the same thing. Some chalets open straight onto the piste; others are a short walk, or a short drive, from the nearest lift.
The questions worth asking
Can you ski back to the door, or only leave from it? Is the access on an easy run or a steeper one, which matters with children? Where is the nearest lift, and where does the ski school meet? Is the ski room heated, with boot warmers? Can you walk to the village for dinner?
Where to look
Many of the chalets with direct access to the pistes in Courchevel 1850 are in the Jardin Alpin, Bellecôte, Nogentil and Les Chenus areas. From there you are on the Courchevel slopes, around 150 km, and connected to the whole of Les 3 Vallées, around 600 km of pistes.
How I help you choose
I know these chalets from the inside, and I can tell you which ones are truly on the snow. Before you decide, you receive a private file on each chalet, with photos and full details.
Questions
Is ski-in, ski-out worth it with children?
Often, yes: no boots to carry, no shuttle, and lessons that can start close to the door. Check the run itself, though: some access is gentle, some is steeper.
Can the equipment be ready in the chalet?
Yes. Skis and boots are fitted in the chalet before your first morning, using the sizes you give me before you arrive.
Tell me your dates.
I answer myself, usually within the hour, with a short selection of chalets on the slopes.
