Courchevel, beyond skiing.
For those who don't ski, and for the afternoons when nobody wants to.
In most families, someone doesn't ski, or not every day. Courchevel has plenty for them, and for everyone on a grey afternoon. I book what suits your party, at the right time, with the transport arranged.
With the children
The toboggan run, about 2 km long, between Courchevel 1850 and 1550, also open some evenings. Aquamotion, a large mountain aquatic centre with pools, slides and a climbing wall. The Olympic ice rink. Pony rides and dog-sledding trips for the youngest.
In the snow
Snowshoe walks with a guide, including by moonlight, a snowmobile ride through the forest at night followed by dinner in a mountain restaurant, or a dog-sled outing at sunset.
From the air
Tandem paragliding above the valley, a helicopter flight over Mont Blanc and the Vanoise National Park, or a hot-air balloon at sunrise, depending on the weather.
In the village
The boutiques and galleries of 1850, a long lunch on a sunny terrace, the spa, or simply a slow afternoon by the fire. Not every day needs a plan.
Questions
Do these activities need to be booked in advance?
The most popular ones, such as evening sled rides or balloon flights, are best booked before you arrive, especially in February. Others can be added during the week.
What if the weather turns?
Flights are postponed when the weather requires it. I always keep an alternative in mind, indoors if needed.
Tell me who is coming.
I answer myself, usually within the hour, and build the week around everyone in your party, skiers or not.
