February is the month families plan around. School holidays across Europe overlap, and the chalets that suit children best, with bedrooms close together, a ski room near the slopes and space to play, are reserved early.
The 2027 dates
In France, winter school holidays run from 6 February to 8 March 2027, across three staggered zones. Most English schools break from 15 to 19 February. These periods overlap, which is why mid-February is the most requested time of the winter.
A week built around the children
Ski school or a private instructor booked well ahead, skis and boots fitted in the chalet, a nanny for the evenings, early dinners for the youngest, and something for those who don't ski: snowshoeing, dog sledding, the spa. I plan the week around your children's rhythm, not the other way round.
When to book
For February, the best family chalets and the most sought-after instructors are usually reserved well before the season opens. Send me your dates as soon as you know your holidays.
